These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Dialectic Method (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The service
Dialectic Method is an AI-guided oral proficiency platform for advanced English speakers. It generates synthesized interlocutor speech and rubric-style feedback. It is an educational tool — it is not a substitute for accredited instruction, certification, professional advice, or human assessment.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.
- Notify us immediately at security@dialecticmethod.com of any unauthorized access.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract underlying models or prompts;
- use the Service to generate unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or hateful content;
- circumvent rate limits, entitlement gating, or security controls;
- resell, sublicense, or impersonate the Service.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Paid plans (Scholar, Fellow) renew automatically until cancelled.
- Pricing is shown on the Pricing page and may change with notice; existing renewals honor the price at sign-up unless we notify you otherwise.
- Statutory rights of withdrawal apply where required by law (e.g., EU 14-day right of withdrawal; you may waive it to access digital content immediately).
- Failed payments may result in temporary downgrade to the Learner tier.
6. AI-generated content
AI replies and feedback are generated by large language models. They may contain inaccuracies, incomplete reasoning, or biased framings. You retain ownership of your spoken inputs; the AI-generated outputs are licensed to you for personal, educational use. See our AI Disclosure.
7. Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Service, including software, prompts, rubrics, topic libraries, and brand assets. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal learning.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with reasonable notice except where immediate action is required to protect the Service.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant any specific learning outcome, exam result, or professional advancement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (e.g., gross negligence, willful misconduct, statutory consumer rights).
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice.
